Mr Philip Radbourne, Director of Wire and Cable Business from Integer Research. Philip heads up the wire and cable research team at Integer Research Ltd. He is one of the founders of the company. Philip has managed market studies, which analysed a range of products from power cables, magnet wire, LAN data cables to copper telecom and fibre optic cables. He has also worked on a range of products from power cables to LAN data cables. He worked with management in a number of cable companies, covering company strategy, market analysis and technical studies.
Brad R. Johnson has been in the Communications industry for 32 years, the past 19 years with Superior Essex. He currently serves as President of Superior Essex International LP, Communications.
Brad joined Superior Essex in January of 1997 as Regional Sales Manager located in St Louis, Missouri. In 1999, was promoted to Director of Sales — Premise Markets, then Vice President of Sales — Distribution Markets. In 2013 Brad was promoted to Senior Vice President - Sales and in January 2016 was again promoted to President.
Prior to joining Superior Essex, Brad worked for GTE Supply and GTE Southwest in various Sales and Marketing roles, and M/A–COM in various Sales Management positions.
Brad holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Indiana State University.

Josh is currently the Vice President of Sales for Telecom Distribution and Utility markets at Prysmian Group North America. His team helps connect and improve our communities by enabling broadband access through the deployment of copper and fiber communications systems. He began his career at ADC Telecommunications, spending 10 years in territory sales, product management, engineering and sales management roles. Josh joined General Cable in August 2008 to start a new OEM Renewable Energy Sales team. He then spent the next six years supporting the electric utility industry as a Product Manager, Director of Investor-Owned Utility (IOU) Markets and Contracts and Vice President of Electric Utility Sales. Prior to the recent acquisition of General Cable by Prysmian Group, Josh was the Vice President of Strategic Marketing for North America and a member of the North American Leadership Team.
Josh holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University and resides in the Cincinnati, OH, area with his wife and two children. He is an avid supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, currently serving as a Scoutmaster for his son’s Troop as well as a council member for the local Dan Beard Council. He also enjoys participating in triathlons and other active sports.

William (Bill) Reichert is the President of Champlain Cable Corporation in Colchester, Vermont. He has been in manufacturing industries for 34 years – 32 of these in wire and cable in various operations, engineering, sales and marketing, management and leadership assignments. Bill has spent the last 14 years at Champlain Cable, where he leads this engineered cable company’s long term strategy, market leadership and profitable growth.
Bill returned to Champlain in 2003 as Vice President, Operations. He was promoted to COO in January, 2014 and into his present role of President in 2016.
A founding advisor for Wire & Cable FOCUS, Bill has presented technical and management papers at both the FOCUS and IWCS conferences. A seven year member of the Wire Association International Board of Directors culminated with Bill as the President of the Wire Association International in 2015. Bill is currently the chairperson of their Finance Committee, and a WCMA (Wire and Cable Manufacturer’s Alliance) board member.
Received Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 1983 and MBA in 1993, both from the University of Vermont.
Dan ChapotonLead Engineer, Transmission Line Equipment
Dan Chapoton is a Lead Engineer at Duke Energy in the Transmission Asset Management organization and has over 32 years of experience at Duke. Dan began his career in 1986 as a transmission line design engineer and in 2000 moved to transmission maintenance in both hands-on and engineering support roles. In 2005 he moved to transmission asset management. He has both extensive line design and line maintenance experience. Dan is responsible for both the overhead and underground preventative maintenance inspection programs across all Duke Energy regions.
He participates in several professional organizations and is currently Chairman of CEATI’s Line Asset Management Group.
Dan has a BS in Civil Engineering from NC State University and is a registered professional engineer in the State of North Carolina. Dan is married, has three grown sons and a granddaughter. His interests include backpacking, travel, boating, and family.
Axel SchlumbergerSenior Vice President, Power Systems & Solutions Group
Axel Schlumberger joined Southwire Company in 1997 and currently serves as Senior Vice President for the Power Systems & Solutions Group.
He leads Southwire’s utility business and provides technical leadership for the activities of the Power Systems & Solutions Group, which includes utility, renewables, industrial and OEM markets.
Axel is a leading expert on engineered cables and conductors, High Temperature Superconductors and High Voltage Cables and Systems. He has held leadership roles in North America and Switzerland, which included technical and sales responsibilities for North American, Middle Eastern and Asian markets.
He holds a master’s degree in Electric Energy Systems and Power Apparatus from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in Germany. A senior member of the IEEE Power & Energy Society and its Long Range Planning board, he is also a member of CIGRE and a contributing author of EPRI's Underground Transmission Systems Reference Book.
Axel is a native of Germany and resides in Atlanta, Georgia.

Courtney Fretz is the Global Business Director for Wire & Cable at Dow, based in Houston, Texas. She is responsible for Dow’s Wire & Cable business including product and asset management, marketing, and growth through innovation. Courtney joined Dow in 2009 and has served in a variety of leadership positions in marketing, sales and product management across diverse markets including adhesives, polyethylene compounds, and home and personal care.
Externally, Courtney serves as Board Member for The Agnes Irwin School Advisory Council in Philadelphia, PA, and Kids’ Meals Advisory Board in Houston.
Courtney holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree Cum Laude in Economics and East Asian studies from the University of Pennsylvania.

Kristen Smith is a Member with Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg, P.A., resident in the Washington, D.C., office. She leads the firm’s Trade Remedies Practice.
For more than 20 years, she has represented clients in trade remedies cases in the U.S. and abroad across a variety of industries including steel, aluminum and automotive. Her experience includes a number of no-injury determinations before the International Trade Commission and obtaining zero percent antidumping rates on behalf of clients before the U.S. Department of Commerce. She works closely with companies to address 232 and 301 tariffs and has obtained a number of exclusions on behalf of clients.
Ms. Smith also has considerable knowledge on international trade and compliance issues and has counseled clients on 337 matters, customs and export compliance, and Court of International Trade litigation. She worked for both the International Trade Commission and the International Trade Administration on trade matters.

Patrick Hughes is Senior Director of Government Relations and Strategic Initiatives at the National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA). Patrick is the principal lead for NEMA's legislative and regulatory government relations work on grid modernization, high-performance buildings, energy storage systems, electric vehicles, and more. Patrick also leads NEMA's Strategic Initiatives program—an idea incubator and accelerator that establishes short-term, innovative programs and projects to prepare NEMA members for emerging opportunities and technologies, including smart cities, Internet of Things, high-performance buildings, and the energy-water nexus.
Before joining NEMA, Patrick was a Senior Associate at the Energy Future Coalition, an initiative of the United Nations Foundation, where he focused on developing new methods to increase the energy efficiency of the commercial building stock in the United States, as well as advocating for policies that encourage the build-out of the electric grid to interconnect remote renewable energy resources. Prior to that, he worked in the office of Congresswoman Grace F. Napolitano (D-California). Patrick has a M.S. in Energy Policy and Climate Science from Johns Hopkins University and received B.A. degrees in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Rochester.
Mark AgnewSenior Director, Financial Analysis

Mark joined the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) in November 1999 as a Financial Analyst. He currently serves as Sr. Director of the Financial Analysis Department, which supports EEI’s public policy and advocacy positions on key industry issues. His department produces EEI’s annual Financial Review and a series of Quarterly Financial Updates that provide aggregate industry data sets and trend analysis on the following topics: Stock Performance, Dividends, Credit Ratings, Construction, and the three primary Financial Statements. Other publications include the quarterly EEI Stock Index. His duties also include being a representative for EEI’s Taxation Committee and Budgeting & Financial Forecasting Committee. Prior to his EEI experience, he served as a Commercial Credit Analyst for the Dun and Bradstreet Corporation. Mark holds an MBA degree from The College of William and Mary.

Ensign’s industry experience expands the last 24 years which includes his current position with Superior Essex International as Vice President Strategic Accounts and Solutions and previously with Legrand/Ortronics as the Director of Technology. His experience also includes positions of increasing responsibility with Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc, including Director of National Accounts and with Intertek Testing Services (ETL) as a Senior Staff Engineer.
Ensign holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from the SUNY Polytechnic Institute along with his RCDD, NTS, OSP, and RTPM designations from BICSI. He is the current BICSI President and is serving as the Chairman of the BICSI Board of Directors. Brian has been an active participant in the TIA, IEEE, and BICSI standards committees and continues to track the progression of such.

Frank StrakaProduct Line Manager, Enterprise Products
Frank joined Panduit as an engineer over 13 years ago. He has worked on and developed many of the innovative products Panduit sells today. He holds 30 patents in copper connectivity and cable design. He has since held other management rolls, and current is the Product Line Manager for Panduit’s Enterprise Products. Frank is also active in the TIA TR42.7 standards group, which is developing new standards to support new applications like higher power PoE, 28AWG patch cords, and field terminable plugs. He is also a frequent speaker at conferences such like BICSI on new copper developments.
Frank has an MBA from Northwestern University, a Master’s degree from Syracuse University, and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.
Craig CulwellService Provider Market Development Manager
Craig Culwell is a market development manager at CommScope, responsible for key Service Provider accounts in North America. The solutions include connectivity for Central Offices, MTSO’s, Data Centers, Outside Plant, and Cell Sites/Small Cell, with additional emphasis on service providers transitioning to SDN/NFV, Edge Data Centers, densification for 4G & 5G, and the value of utilizing Automated Infrastructure Management (AIM) solutions.
Culwell’s strategic mind leverages an understanding of customer needs in those vertical markets and driving change in cross-functional product management, engineering, and field application engineering teams to develop the solutions to increase market share now and into the future.
Before his nearly 19 years at CommScope, Culwell spent time at AT&T as a network service operations manager.
Culwell holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from California Polytechnic State University, and an MBA from the University of Phoenix. He is based in Sacramento.
Kevin HamiltonTransportation Industry Business Development Director
Kevin Hamilton is presently the Transportation Industry Business Development Director for North America with Nexans. Kevin has 19 years of experience in the wire and cable industry where his entire career has involved application specific products. This includes serving markets ranging from Defense, Aerospace, Railways, Shipbuilding and Rolling Stock as well as other niches. His roles have spanned multiple functional areas including product management, sales, engineering and operations. In addition to his six years with Nexans, Kevin was with Draka/Prysmian for thirteen years where he maintained P&L responsibility over two business areas; Defense and Railways. Previously, Kevin also served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the U.S. Navy.
Kevin has a BS in Oceanography from the U.S. Naval Academy and an MBA from the University of Rhode Island. He is also a voting member of SAE committee AE-8D on Aerospace Wire and Cable.
J.Derrick SmithManager of DAS Technical Standards

J. Derrick Smith has over 20 years experience in the wireless industry. He currently serves as the Manager for Indoor Product Development and Strategy for AT&T’s national team. Derrick has been with AT&T for 15 years and has worked in numerous cross functional roles including HQ RAN and National Device Testing. Derrick was instrumental in developing AT&T’s indoor deployment guidelines and standards in 2010-11 and has worked to revise and modify those standards to include small cells and LTE. Prior to joining AT&T, he worked as a consultant in the wireless industry and helped train entry level engineers on various wireless technologies. He has a degree in Mathematics from Morehouse College, BS and MS in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech, and an MBA from Kennesaw State University. He is married to Dr. Jacinda Byrd-Smith and has one daughter, Jaida.

Brian Jacobs is the Director of the North America Wire & Cable and Cable Systems business at Huber + Suhner in Charlotte NC. Brian has a BS and MS in Engineering from Clemson University and the University of Delaware. Following an assignment as an officer in the US Army, Brian spent the next 15 years at Raychem Corporation in the W&C business. During the time at Raychem, Brian had ex-pat assignments in Europe and Japan and ended up in Detroit for most of his career. After Raychem was acquired by TE Connectivity, Brian moved over to the AMP business and started the Tyco automotive RF interconnect business together with GM as they initially launched OnStar.
Brian also spent time at Littelfuse leading the global sales organization and started the Commercial Vehicle Products business as the Business Unit Director following the acquisition and integration of 2 switch component manufacturers into Littelfuse. Previous to Huber + Suhner, Brian was the General Manager of an automotive component manufacturing business with Kendrion NV in Western NC. Brian joined Huber + Suhner in the summer of 2017, leading sales, engineering and program management for the NA W&C organization.

Dr. Mohamed Esseghir is a Principal Research Scientist with The Dow Chemical Company and has more than 30 years of experience in polymer research, including blends, reactive modification, rheology, formulation development, and processing. He is currently responsible for new material research for the Telecommunications segment in Dow’s Wire & Cable R&D. Dr. Esseghir has served on the board of the Polymer Processing Institute (PPI) and is currently on the Committee of the International Cable & Connectivity Symposium (IWCS). He holds a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from the Algerian Petroleum Institute and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering from Rutgers University. Following post-doctoral work at the Polymer Processing Institute at Stevens Institute of Technology, Dr. Esseghir began his career with Union Carbides’ Polyolefin Research before joining the Wire & Cable business at Dow. He holds 26 granted patents, and has authored 27 publications and technical presentations, as well as two book chapters.

David Kreh is Global Market Manager, Wire and Cable for Arkema Inc. David has held numerous positions within Arkema during his 30 year career including information systems, Global Supply Chain and business management, including as ex-pat assignment in Lyon, France. David currently leads Arkema’s Global Wire and Cable team. The team’s focus is to work with global wire and cable manufacturers to help them solve challenging performance requirements through the use of high performance polymers.
