Elektrokoppar is the copper wire subsidiary of Liljedahl Group, which also has a Winding Wire Division, which has enamelled wire operations in Sweden, Germany, Poland and China. Elektrokoppar believes that Global copper demand will rise by 8-9% this year versus 2009 as China’s economy powers ahead, the US economy continues to improve and Europe follows suit.

Data from the Japanese Electric Wire and Cable Makers’ Association shows that Japanese copper wire and cable shipments rose by 12.1% year-on-year from a year earlier to an estimated 55,300 tonnes in February 2010.
