Bryan Flansburg, CAFM, Director of Transportation Services, University of Colorado
Bryan Flansburg has been involved with Fleet Management for over half of his life. With 26 years of fleet experience, 22 of those with the University of Colorado. Bryan started his career with a 4 year stint in the Military. He has held positions as maintenance manager, fleet manager, and for the past 12 years has served as Director of Transportation Services at the University of Colorado. Transportation Services has 55 employees that report to four area managers. Bryan supervises the area managers whose responsibilities include administering the University fleet, driver training, a motor pool, a maintenance shop, a transit operation and alternative transportation options. In January 2005, Bryan’s Fleet responsibilities expanded to include the University of Colorado’s Denver and Health Science Center campuses. Bryan is an active member of NAFA Fleet Management Association. Previously serving terms in appointed and elected positions at a local and national level, he has facilitated and conducted numerous training sessions. Bryan earned his Certified Automotive Fleet Manager (CAFM) certification in 1997 and was recertified in 2002 and again in 2007. Bryan was instrumental in originating the University of Colorado’s biodiesel program, which has been recognized nationwide. In 2003, Bryan started his own company where he has developed computer programs to improve business processes for several local businesses, fleet consulting for local municipalities, and has been called as an expert consultant and witness for a fleet related lawsuit. His company also provides photography services which is one of Bryan’s longtime passions.
