Dr R.K.Malhotra is holding the position of Executive Director (R&D) at Indian Oil Corporation Limited. He is Board Member of Indocat Pvt. Limited, a JV company of IndianOil and Intercat, USA.
He did his Mechanical Engineering from Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University and Ph.D. from the Centre of Energy Studies, IIT Delhi.
He has more than 32 years of research experience in the downstream of petroleum sector particularly related to development, application and testing of Fuels and Lubricants. His major expertise is in the Alternative Fuels and its Application in Automobiles. He is currently leading the research in refining technologies, lubricant technologies, alternative energy, bio-technology and nanotechnology at the Research & Development Centre of Indian Oil Corporation.
He has published more than 70 research papers and holds 10 international patents to his credit.
He is member of several national committees responsible for formulation of fuel quality and emission standards in India. He is presently on important committees responsible for review of Auto Fuel Policy in India and also formulation of fuel economy standards for automobiles in India.
He is presently Chairman of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) India, Northern India Section. He is President of CIMAC India. He is also Vice President of the Tribology Society of India and Board Member of the NLGI India.
