Having studied economics at the University of Antwerp (UFSIA), Kris joined the Brussels based family business involved in alternative fuel management systems for passenger cars. He took over the running of the business becoming Managing Director in 1998 and expanding operations into industrial engines with 3 way catalyst, DPF and SCR control. In 2007 he co-founded the U.K. based Diesel Emission Control Ltd, a company specialising in the development and supply of emission aftertreatment control systems.
