With Starcrest, Mr. Hon specializes in emerging technologies and strategies to reduce air emissions for port and industry clients. In this capacity, Mr. Hon contributed to climate and air quality inventories and strategies for most of the major port authorities in the U.S. Mr. Hon sits on the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH) delegation to the IMO environment subcommittees and represents IAPH in the NOx and Black Carbon correspondence groups.
Mr. Hon came to Starcrest from the Port of Tacoma where he developed the Port’s air quality program and collaborated with regional ports on the Northwest Ports Clean Air Strategy. He has also served as the marine program lead for the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) and as an environmental research and field manager for Brookhaven National Laboratory. He holds an M.S. in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and is a marine electrician and life-long sailor.
