Dan Arcy, Global OEM Technical Manager, located at Shell Global Solutions, Westhollow Technology Center in Houston, TX.
Dan’s responsibilities include Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) technical support. Dan works closely with OEMs in helping to develop new specifications and lubrication products. Dan is the Shell representative to the heavy duty engine oil technical committees.
Dan has over 22 years of experience in the lubricants business. Dan has held a number of positions within Shell including: Product Manager for Heavy Duty Engine Oils, Technical Marketing Manager, Field Technical Service Manager and Director of Business Development. Dan’s responsibilities have included product development, lubricant formulation, public relations and training.
Dan is currently chairman of the New Category Development Team (NCDT) and is responsible for leading the NCDT in defining the PC-11 performance standard for the next generation heavy-duty engine oils. Dan serves as Shell’s representative to the American Petroleum Institute (API) Diesel Engine Oil Advisory Panel (DEOAP), a joint committee of oil marketers and engine manufacturers that manages the new performance category development process. Dan has held this position as a voting member for over fifteen years and has actively been involved in the development of the last 3 heavy duty engine oil performance categories. Dan also is a voting member on the ASTM Heavy-Duty Engine Oil Classification Panel (HDEOCP).
