Currently India has the largest light duty fleet in the world without fuel efficiency standards. Soon this situationwill change as the Bureau of Energy Efficiency is anticipated to announce fuel efficiency standards for carssoon and two sets of FE norms will be implemented in 2015 and 2020 respectively. Overall, the LDVs areexpected to be mandated a 15 percent reduction in fuel consumption by 2020.
