Marcelo Dreicon, Director of Industrial Districts of the Department of Economic Development, has confirmed his participation at the upcoming ’4th Integer Emissions Summit Brazil 2014. The conference will take place on the 20-22 May, at the Sheraton São Paulo WTC Hotel.
Mr. Dreicon, who coordinates the fleet renewal programme of the Rio de Janiero government, will address the work that is carried out to renew the city’s public transport fleet. His presentation will cover the environmental and economic benefits of fleet renewal, as well as explaining the increased investment in this area and collaboration with local vehicle manufacturers.
Fleet renewal is an extremely important priority for the Brazilian automotive industry, where the average vehicle age is between 20 and 30 years. This is the equivalent of Euro I standards, whereas new vehicles must adhere to PROCONVE P7 standards, the equivalent of Euro V. The continuing use of old vehicles has a detrimental effect on air quality in urban areas of Brazil and the health of its inhabitants.
The conference and ARLA 32 Forum are the leading independent platforms to examine profitable and fuel efficient emissions reduction across on and off-road sectors in Brazil.
The conference will bring together over 250 attendees from across the diesel emissions supply chain to gain vital information and to participate in discussions on the legislative issues that shape the industry.
