Strong opportunities for GCC Wire & Cable market

“Rapid population growth, unprecedented expansion of the construction sector and industrial projects and billions of dollars of government and private investments in the GCC infrastructure had led to spiralling growth in the construction industry, and thereby, had increased the demand for power in the region.

In the power sector alone, more than 60,000 megawatts (MW) are expected to get streamlined between 2008 and 2015, adding around 80% of the current capacity.

…Integer estimates that the value of the Wire & Cable market in the GCC in 2010 was US$5.5 billion.”

The above quote is taken from an article written by Integer’s Senior Analyst, Andrea Valentini and published in Arab Construction World magazine.
